Our Projects
We've been doing a lot of doing!
We're digging away in the background working on some very cool stuff!
New Brighton Soup
Next Soup coming soon...
Twice a year we run Soup. where you can pitch your community idea for the pot (of cash that is)!
Join us for an evening of kai and community. For your ticket you will receive a delicious bowl of soup and one vote for your favourite idea on the night. Up to six people will pitch their ideas to those gathered and the winning idea will take home a pot of money to help make it happen.
What we love about Soup is that it brings the community together and also helps make things happen, fast!
Sand Castle Competition
Next event: March 2026
Join us for a fun, cheap, family day out with great prizes to be won during the Duke Festival of Surfing!
2026's theme was Octopuses... Octopi...? - anyway, it was pretty cool, and we can't wait for the next one!
Ocean Alley Activation
DCB is supporting the temporary activation of the old-Westpac site in Brighton Mall. We have been inspired by our seaside locale and designed a bright and funky walk way from the Hawke Street Carpark to the mall.
The project will also help test some of the ideas behind the North-South corridor action as detailed in the New Brighton Master Plan. We will be working alongside local businesses, ChristchurchNZ and the City Council for this project.
We're a group of passionate do-ers
Building a movement of positive "doers" focused on improving their own local area through a shared purpose and values.
